Decent food. Prepare to wait if coming for lunch. Clientele mostly students from the nearby College Park campus.
This is the only place I can find that serves my favorite noodle dish. The D1 reminds me of something in NYC's Chinatown. The staff is very nice, although the place is a bit quirky (ask for water, get lukewarm water, ask for a Coke, get a room temperature can of coke with no ice). I still love this place -- it has a certain character and I always find myself going back.
service was a little slow, and not everything was a total hit - some of the skewers were meh - but overall, an awesome meal.
Do it all for self and ask for what you want. Get menus yourself. Write down on the order sheet your order. Turn it in. Ask for water if you want it. Then eat damn good lunch and go up and pay!
Disappointed that the liangpi dish did not include cucumbers, but still very good. Rou jia mo (burgers), especially the cumin lamb one, are out of this world. They are simply amazing, worth every penny and they are the reason I go back. Cold vegetables and sesame cold noodles are good too.
FYI, there's a $10 threshold for credit cards, so bring cash if you're coming alone to get a snack.
