I had a herniated disc in my spine, their plan was to just take a lot of over the counter painkillers. Then they lost my prescription after I got it treated elsewhere, and left me stuck in pain until the next week, a week during which I would've been fine.
Chelsea Cosby is the worst. She only checked one of my ears and told me i didnt have an ear infection. She also wouldnt prescribe me the medicine that i needed.
If I could give zero stars I would. Every time I have made an appointment the doctors I have met with have been entirely unhelpful and dismissive of my problems. Most of them treat you more like an obligation than a person who needs help. My experience with the mental health center was especially terrible; I saw 3 different doctors there and all of them refused to listen to me about what I needed help with and kept pushing me to take medication that I frequently told them made me feel much much worse. I can honestly say that even though it's less convenient, I will always seek doctors outside of the UMD health center for any problems I have in the future that require professional help.
I honestly have had a great experience here. Everything would take a lot longer if I had to go to different providers outside of the school. I'm a grad student and live off campus so it's really helpful to have a women's clinic, general practitioner, travel clinic, x-rays (sports), pharmacy in one place. Everything has been reasonable and just like a regular doctor's office elsewhere! Nice, caring staff.
The best experience I ever had with a medical professionals! I went to see Dr. Cosby for a minor surgery. She knew exactly what she was doing and was very confident. It was Nurse LeGrand's first time assisting in the procedure but she made sure that everything was prepared and followed orders exactly. I felt very safe and the whole thing only took an hour. Very good job!
