All is not perfect. Sometimes they forget to get back to me about stuff (crash replacement policy). There are some people it's best you avoid. But if you need a fix or advice on bike parts, this is a great place.
I bought my bike at their old location about 10 yrs ago. I've been coming to them for service and they have been honest and trustworthy. The last time I was there I was coming from a bad experience at an Arlington bike shop where I had been quoted an astronomical amount for a new bike wheel.
Will continue to visit them and eventually get a new bike from them.
Awesome, personalized service, super friendly staff and rapid sales follow up. And that's not including their outstanding inventory of quality bikes!
College Park mechanic told me he would try to replace the broken spokes and if that didn't work I would have to get a new tire. He changed the spokes, trued the tire and was super nice. Have worked with him before and yes they are sometimes swamped but I trust their service.
I went there to buy a pressure valve adapter. Then I asked the guy at front desk about installing it. Then he said you tube is punctured. Then I bought a new tube and payed for labor. Then he said you former tube is not punctured(I already knew). Then they refunded me and asked me to buy a new piece. Now my bike is punctured.
I bought my first road bike here a little over a year ago. During the past year, some of the guys at the shop have become my closest friends. I doubt there's a thing Phil can't fix. All the new guys are cheerful, enthusiastic, and helpful. I'm glad they revived the shop ride.
I arrived before College Park Bicycles were officially open and was willing to wait till they were done with setting up for the day yet Phil immediately proceeded to assist me which I greatly appreciate. Phil helped me figure out the conundrum I had with my folding bicycle's need for repeat changings of the rear brake cable and housing. He also made sound recommendations for replacement parts as well as educated me on how the different models function and would operate on a folder. I definitely appreciate Phil's knowledge of folders. He also explained how the older and less efficient model of my shifters compares to newer ones and how it contributes to the problem and why I would benefit from a replacement. Many thanks for helping me become a better educated consumer!
I went to three different bike vendors in the area looking for a good quality hybrid. I was about to go to a out of state vendor based on a friend's recommendation. That's was before I discovered College Park Bikes. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and let me try out several different models before I settled on a Trek. I returned some weeks later for a tune up and questions about local bike paths and they were very helpful. Would I go back again? That's a foregone conclusion. I plan to get another bike from them again soon. They deserve ten stars.
